State Rep is on the Democratic primary ballot on September 3rd!
Meet Kathleen
My name is Kathleen Hornby and I’m running to be the next State Representative for the 27th Middlesex District in Somerville.
I'm a former legislative staffer with nearly a decade of experience on Beacon Hill, a year-round cyclist and regular MBTA rider, a member of and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, and a parent with two young children in the Somerville Public Schools. I’m running for State Representative to continue fighting for issues like housing stability, reproductive justice, and climate action – not because they’re part of a progressive policy platform but because that’s how we address the needs of residents who are struggling or in crisis.
I will fight to ensure that you can afford to live in Somerville, raise your kids in Somerville, and grow old in Somerville; that we address public health crises like substance use, adolescent mental health, and maternal health; that we have a safe and reliable public transportation system; that workers are getting the pay, benefits, and training that they deserve; that we continue to lead in addressing climate change and making progress towards climate resilience; and that we bring back state funding to invest directly in our community. I am also committed to being a resource for you as you navigate state agencies and services.
I am making the priorities and concerns of our community the heart of this campaign. Please let me know what you want from your next State Representative. You can reach me at [email protected], at 617-398-7125, or just share your thoughts when I knock at your door.
